heartHAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO GRADUATES OF CLASS OF DHS ’67!!heart

The good news is that no notices of “In Memoriam” have been received in the past few months.  Yay!  Looks like we’re perking along pretty good!

Secondly, as several of us have spoken about having a smaller get-together before the next Reunion, perhaps the information posted below would be a great opportunity to get together ALONG WITH graduates from other classes.

2019

DENISON HIGH SCHOOL

MULTI CLASS "SPRING FLING"

APRIL 27, 2019 **  2:00 TO 5:00 PM ** SCOTT MIDDLE SCHOOL ** 1901 S. MIRICK

The above Spring Fling (which occurs every two years) would enable us to visit with our own class plus many other classes (and we could continue on after 5:00 pm  if we wish!!). It’s two months away, so there should be plenty of time to make arrangements.  I’m taking off work that Saturday. Let me know who’all’s going!! We could plan on a table or posters, similar to our Reunion. Let’s hear your feedback. I will check back if anything changes re the time, etc.

Finally, one of our graduates, Phil Hurley, lost his wife, Jenise, to cancer. Jenise attended our 50th Reunion in September, 2018.    Condolences to Phil:

HURLEY,  Sheryl Jenise Hurley left this earth at peace on November 23, 2018 after the most courageously fought fourteen year battle with cancer. She was born on May 17, 1949, to Joyce and Joel Hyde in Atlanta, Georgia. After living there, Minneapolis and Los Angeles, Jenise spent her formative years in Dallas. After attending Walnut Hill Elementary and Cary Middle School, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in North Dallas. After graduation, Jenise attended the University of Oklahoma and later transferring to the University of Texas at Austin where she received her BS degree in fashion design in 1970. While there, she met her husband, Philip, in a marketingclass and the two were married in 1971. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority where she received The Order of the Golden Arrow for 50 years of service. Jenise was also an active member of the Northwood Women's Club, Bent Tree Garden Club and the Bent Tree Country Club. Of her many interests, including golf, skiing and traveling, her most passionate was interior design and decorating work both in Dallas and in Tyler where she lived and raised her family for over 30 years. This followed a very successful career in fashion merchandising with the Dallas icon, Titche's. All of these interests became secondary with the arrival of her grandchildren, a total of four to keep her busy. Jenise is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Philip H. Hurley; a son, Cory Jason Hurley (Christa) of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Heather Hurley Smith(Edwin) of Dallas; four lovely grandchildren, Patricia Grace Hurley and Philip Henry Hurley, both of Atlanta, GA., Sella Jenise Smith and Arthur Edwin Smith, Jr., both of Dallas. She is also survived by: two sisters, Jill Woods of Scottsdale, AZ and Jan Tucker of Charleston, SC; and one half-sister, Linda Langley of Panguitch, UT. Jenise was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir and the Logos Sunday School Class.

Please let me know if you have any information to be added to our site.  Don’t forget, you can download pictures, look through past emails, peruse Reunion pictures, leave comments……..
