DENISON - Carol Campbell Drewry, age 62, slipped peacefully into Jesus arms Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Providence Healthcare in Waco.

Ms. Drewry was born November 13, 1948 in Denison, Texas the daughter of John Rubin and Beatrice Gertrude (Thompson) Campbell. She was a long-time Denison resident and volunteered within the community. She graduated from Denison High School and Stephen F. Austin University. Carol retired from Verizon after 25 years of service. She held the position of secretary for GTE's Texoma Pioneers for several years. Carol enjoyed family history and exploring genealogy. She was active in the Daughters of The American Revolution. She loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church of Denison. Carol was a loving mother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carol is survived by her beloved family, daughter, Amanda Drewry of Dallas, Texas, sister, Hazel Schiflett and husband, Larry of Waco, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Agnes Strickland Campbell and siblings, Joyce Hardy, J. R. Campbell, Charles Campbell and niece, Linda Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery.
