Nikki Sue Bollinger (Addison)

Nikki Sue Addison (Bollinger), 67, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born December 23, 1949, in Denison, Texas where she lived until graduating high school in 1967. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Callisburg, Texas where she raised her three children. In 1987, she met the love of her life, moved to Coppell, Texas, and they spent the next thirty years enjoying numerous adventures together. After a variety of jobs, including incorporating the new town of Oak Ridge, she settled into a career in yellow page advertising at GTE Directories and BVK Direct. In her spare time, she loved to read, travel and create beautiful beaded jewelry. In 2013, she received one of the greatest gifts of her life when she underwent a successful double lung transplant operation. Since that time she spent every day being grateful and making the most of her life. She taught us many valuable lessons throughout her life. Among them were: Life is too short to worry; Everything should have a name (including plants and various inanimate objects); The beach cures all ailments (especially Mexican beaches); There's no such thing as strangers, only opportunities; Everything is worth trying at least once. After the transplant, her motto became "Never look back because that's not the way you're going." Preceding her in death is her step-father, Jack Burrows; father, Charles Hewitt; and brother, Kevin Hewitt. She is survived by her husband, Tim Addison of Coppell; her mother, Tess Burrows of Gainesville; her son, Stacey Maxwell of Sanger; her daughter, Dylan Gotcher of Denison; her daughter, Jordan Walker of Dallas; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her best friend, Kimmi Claxton. Per her request, the family will hold a celebration in her honor with the date to be announced at a later time. In the event you wish to make a donation in her memory, she was particularly fond of Donate Life Texas, KERA Public Radio and the Turtle Survival Alliance among many others.
