Larry Rex Parr Obituary

Larry Rex Parr, a life-long resident of Denison, TX, died on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at his home.

Larry was born on 16 May, 1948. He graduated from Denison high school in 1966, and was a life-long supporter of the Yellow Jackets. He served in the US Army from April 1970 to December 1971. A proud railroader, Larry retired after 39 years of faithful service to the Katy and Union Pacific railroad in 2008.

A kind and generous man, Larry was a loyal friend, excellent story-teller, and proud member of his community. He could often be found at the local coffee shop with his friends, telling jokes and enjoying good company. A dedicated sportsman, Larry was most at home on Hagerman Wildlife Refuge, often scouting with his beloved dog, Trixie. Although cancer has taken him from his family and friends too early, he will be remembered for his contributions to all our lives.

A celebration of his life will be held for friends and family at a later date.
